My name is Corey Sheeley, self-taught guitar player and developer of Fretwise. As someone who loves to play guitar, it occurred to me that when it comes to breaking free of the constraints of simple soloing techniques, I would need a teaching tool that could help me not only understand what the scales and mode are, but when and how to properly utilize them in order to become a more melodic and musical guitar player. While YouTube videos and similar learning tools can help, I wanted something that would help to visualize the entire fretboard, as well as break things down note by note to help me to understand why these scales work. Fretwise allows you to see and hear why these work well, and even spells them out in easy to understand TAB format so that even those who are just starting out are able to easily follow along.
